A Tribute to Superstar Dilip Kumar: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar has passed away at the age of 98. Furthermore, the death of megastar Dilip Kumar on Wednesday has shocked and saddened the entire Indian film industry. We are from God and to Him, we return,” read Farooqui’s tweet via Dilip Kumar’s official Twitter handle.

Dilip Kumar was born on December 11, 1922, at his family home in Peshawar’s Qissa Khawani Bazaar, British India, as one of twelve children to Lala Ghulam Sarwar Khan and his wife Ayesha Begum. His father was a fruit merchant, and he was named Mohammad Yusuf Khan.
Kumar attended Barnes School in Deolali, Nashik. He grew up in the same neighborhood as Raj Kapoor, his childhood friend and later film industry colleague. Dilip Kumar was an Indian film producer and actor. Moreover, he is popular for his work in Hindi (Bollywood) cinema. He popular as the “Tragedy King” and “The First Khan,” and is famous for introducing a distinct method of acting technique to the cinema. The Government of Andhra Pradesh presented Kumar with the NTR National Award, 1997. In 1998, the Government of Pakistan bestowed upon Kumar the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s highest civilian award. In 2009, Dilip Kumar received the CNN-IBN Lifetime Achievement Award.
From India’s independence to the late 2010s, Kumar held the record for having the most box office grossing films (9), until Salman Khan broke his record by delivering 10 films.
