Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates are Officially Divorced Today: The couple filed for divorce on 3rd May 2021, after 27 years of marriage. Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates are co-founders of one of the world’s largest private charitable foundations. Their divorce was finalized on Monday according to the court’s document. No details upon how they will be dividing the largest fortunes in history.

Public filings showed that billions of dollars of shares were transferred into French Gates name following the public announcement in May of their plan to divorce. Their 3 children all are 18+ hence no custody arrangement was necessary. Also, there will be no change in name. French Gates will be using her family name together with her married name after separation. After Bill Gates divorce, the couple pledge to continue their philanthropic work together. The court did not issue money, property, or spousal support judgment in the divorce.
