Comedian Bharti Singh and husband Harsh Limbachiyaa Arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau. Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa were arrested after 15 hours of questioning by anti-drug agency NCB. Their home was searched on Saturday amid a widening probe – which began with inquiries into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June – into drug use in the entertainment industry.
They were arrested on Sunday morning over allegations of possession and use of marijuana. Bharti Singh and Harsh house was checked on Saturday. Officials said that a small amount of cannabis was found from their home in their apartment at Andheri.According to an NCB official, Ms. Singh’s name emerged during questioning of a drug peddler. According to the NCB, during questioning, Ms Bharti and Mr Limbachiyaa accepted that they use narcotic substances.The quantity of drugs found at the couple’s home was not commercial but could still invite up to 10 years in jail, according to officials.
Over the last few months Deepika Pdukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rukul Preet and Shraddha Kapoor have all been questioned by the NCB as part of its attempt to unravel the network of drug supply to celebrities.
Earlier this month actor Arjun Rampal’s home was searched, and both he and his girlfriend, Gabriella Demetriades, were summoned for questioning. In September, the central agency had arrested Mr. Rajput’s girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, for allegedly procuring drugs for him. Her brother Showik, some employees of the late film star, and a few others were also arrested under various sections of the NDPS Act, based on the recovery of a small quantity of marijuana.
