Former cricketerDean Jones dies: Former Australia cricketer Dean Jones died of a heart attack in Mumbai on Thursday.
He was 59 years old. Dean Jones is in India to fulfill his responsibilities as the broadcaster of the Indian Premier League ( IPL ). He had a heart attack around 12’o clock today, i.e 24/09/2020 at a hotel in Mumbai.
Born in Melbourne, he had scored over 9,000+ runs in 52 Test matches and 164 ODI matches in Australia.
The 59-year-old has been a television star for the past 20 years.
Jones is considered one of the best strikers in that era and an important part of the Australian team that won the 1987 Cricket World Cup.
” It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing away of Mr. Dean Mervyn Jones AM. He died of a sudden cardiac arrest, We express our deep condolences to his family and stand ready to support them in this difficult time. We are in touch with the Australian High Commission to make the necessary arrangements ” Star sports twitted.
They also added, ” Jones was one of the great ambassadors of the game associating himself with Cricket development across South Asia. He was passionate about discovering new talent and nurturing young cricketers. Jones was a champion commentator whose presence and presentation of the game always brought joy to millions of fans. He will be sorely missed by everyone at Star and his millions of fans across the globe. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. ”
