Check your Hair Type
Without knowing your hair type, you cannot possibly draw up an effective hair care routine. Knowing the texture, density and the level of oiliness in your hair is important. Wash your hair normally, using a regular shampoo and conditioner. Make sure you are not too harsh on your scalp while washing.
After washing, let your hair rest for about 8-10 hours — sufficient time for oil to accumulate in your hair. After that, take a tissue and gently press on your hair. If there’s a lot of oil on the tissue, obviously, you have oily hair. If there’s a slight hint of oil, you have a medium oily type of hair. But if the tissue is completely free of oil — no prizes for guessing — you have dry hair.
If the tissue shows dryness when pressed gently against some parts of your hair and shows oiliness when held against other parts, you have a combination hair type.
Oiling your Hair

You should first choose the right kind of shampoo for your individual hair type. For instance, if you have oily hair, a purifying shampoo will do. Comb your Hair properly
The most important tip to keep in mind is to never comb wet hair. Your hair is in a delicate state when it is wet. Hence, avoid combing in such condition as it leads to hair fall and hair breakage.
A wide-toothed comb and a boar bristle brush are generally advised for all types of hair. You should wash your comb or your brush every two weeks.
The basic point is to keep hair disentangled. Never just randomly run the comb through your hair- it leads to hairfall. Divide your hair in two to three sections and detangle them gently with wide-tooth comb. Start combing from the bottom with ease and thus move upwards and detangle the hair.
