Biography of Harshad Mehta

Harshad Mehta was born on 29 July 1954 at, Paneli Moti, Rajkot District in Gujarati Jain Family. He spent his childhood in Kandivali. His father had a textile business that shut down. And he completed his B.Com in 1976 from Lala Lajpatrai College, Mumbai and After graduation, he worked a number of odd jobs for 8 years. Although he was not satisfied with his job as he wanted to make more money to fulfill his desires.

As a result, Harshad started his job as a salesperson at the Bombay office of New India Assurance Company Limited. Then after his interest grew in the stock market as one of his neighbors were making huge sum from the market.

However, he was not unaware of the stock market terms therefore he started to work as a jobber in a brokerage firm and made huge profits for the firm.

As a result, he thought of starting his own firm with his brothers Ashwin Mehta and Sudhir Mehta. In 1984 Harshad started his own firm ‘ Grow More Research and Asset Management ‘

During 1990 he was the biggest market player, by his one-word the fortune of any company use to rise and fall. In other words, he was called the Big Bull and the Amitabh Bachchan of the stock market.
