Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is a 2014 Indian Hindi language romantic comedy film, written and directed by Shashank Khaitan in his directorial debut, and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions.
It features Varun Dhawan as Humpty Sharma, Alia Bhatt as Kavya Pratap Singh, and Sidharth Shukla as Angad. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania notes the second pairing of leads after their debut Student Of The Year and was released on 11 July 2014 and emerged a commercial success.
The story revolves around a girl from Ambala, Kavya Pratap Singh, who is about to get married to an NRI. When she visits Delhi to shop for her trousseau (Lehenga), she meets Humpty Sharma, a carefree Delhiite, and falls in love with him.
It has been six years to the release of this film. The film featured Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Shukla in the lead roles, with Ashutosh Rana, Sahil Vaid (currently seen in ‘Dil Bechara’), Gaurav Pandey among others, in a supporting role.
Despite Alia and Varun grabbing most screen time, fans are celebrating Sidharth Shukla’s debut with ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. The Television actor, who was popularly known as the face of ‘Balika Vadhu’ back then, had recently also won the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ trophy, beating names like Asim Riaz, Shehnaz Gill, and Rashami Desai.
