Instagram Reels Launched By Facebook

Instagram Reels: Facebook launched its own short video feature called Instagram Reels. This new feature lets its users create videos on the app, add music, add creative filters, and share it with their followers, said VP of Product, Facebook, Vishal Shah. Instagram Reels are similar to TikTok and it allows users to create short videos with popular songs, trends, and different challenges.

Vishal Shah said the product comes from Facebook got to know that more than 45% of videos on Instagram is 15 seconds or less. Vishal Shah said “We also realized that stories are not the only place where they wanted to share these videos as they wanted them to stick on for longer and be distributed beyond their followers,” .

Instagram Reels feature lets its users shoot short videos, add filters and music, and share it everywhere. Its users will be able to share Reels on Feed with followers and Explore. Monetization for Reel is not active for now. As it is in testing phase, in future monetization can roll out.

How can you create Instagram Reels?

  • Select Reels from the bottom of the Instagram camera.
  • Click on the Audio option and search for a song from the Instagram music library of your choice.
  • You can also use your own original audio by recording a Reel with it just like TikTok.
  • You can add other Effects to make your Reel interesting and different from other creators and also set the timer to record any of your clips .
  • There is also an option to speed up or slow down part of the video or audio for adding different effects.

After Brazil, Germany, and France, India is the fourth country, where this feature of Instagram video format is being tested. The feature will start rolling out for Indian users starting today. Many big players are trying to grab the TikTok market.
