TCET – Thakur College of Engineering and Technology

TCET was awarded the autonomous status in the year 2019 for 10 years and it is one of the few colleges in Mumbai with an autonomous status.

Thakur College of Engineering & Technology (TCET) was established in the academic year 2001-02 with the express purpose of providing high-quality technical education in line with international standards and modern global requirements. The college is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Govt. is Maharashtra and is affiliated with the University of Mumbai (UOM). All courses at U.G. Level, eligible for approval in 2011 i.e. Electronics & Telecommunication (EXTC), Information Technology (IT), and Computer Engineering (CMPN) were licensed by the NBA for three years w.e.f. 16.9.2011. In addition, these programs are also offered with endless relationships w.e.f. A.Y. 2015-16.

The Center has applied for a second authorization for its UG programs i.e. EXTC, IT, and CMPN, as well as the first time of Electronics Engineering (ETRX) as we found it appropriate after the three difficulties were passed in 2015. All of these programs had been approved for 3 years w.e.f. 01-07-2016. The ETRX system is also provided with endless integration w.e.f. A.Y. 2017-18.

TCET is a small independent institution that finances certain languages ​​(speaking Hindi) since its inception. The management’s commitment to the efficiency and importance of technical education is reflected in the most amazing infrastructure that can be compared to the best institution of its kind in the country. This five-story building, computer-assisted living room, extended classrooms, efficient workshop, workshops, computer-equipped computer center, fully-stocked library, wide and clean well-built streets. Conference halls, conference halls have set new goals in providing facilities for international standards. A campus full of spots, gardens, playgrounds, parking lots and a temple ensures proper academic independence is essential to a higher education institution.

At TCET, the importance of professionalism is well understood and demonstrated by trained, knowledgeable, and regular staff in all departments. A closely watched quality assurance system ensures the reporting of the syllabus within the relevant timeline. Additional training on difficult topics by comparing them to various disciplines and group counseling is one of the healthy practices followed at TCET. Bridge courses and other training programs prepare the student for industry-wide accreditation over others at national and international levels.

TCET is ISO 9001: 2008 certified and may have been upgraded to ISO 9001: 2015. The center receives the most popular IMC – Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Commendation Certification 2012 (Education) followed by IMC – Ramkrishna Bajaj National Award 2015 (Education). In July 2016 TCET was nominated for the Asia Pacific Quality Award (APQA) for the best class awards in the academic category from the Global Pacific Award (GPQA). TCET has been awarded in the category of “Excellent Performing & Innovative Engineering Institute in Maharashtra” at the National Maharashtra Education Summit & Award 2016, organized jointly by the University of Mumbai & CMAI Association of India. TCET is a member of the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with industry institutions where TCET is represented by the CII-Education Excellence Forum for Industrial Development, Employment, and Workforce Development.

The use of modern technology in the teaching-learning process and the successful day-to-day management of the college makes TCET different. Important milestones such as teacher recruitment program, textbook banking, resource booking, annual event planning (such as Multicon-W, technology and culture festivals, etc.) make TCET center a difference. Thus, within just 15 years of existence, TCET has established a niche for itself as one of the leading engineering colleges under the University of Mumbai in Maharashtra.
