Vaishnodevi Yatra started from today i.e. 16th August 2020. However, the great Vaishnodevi temple was closed for 5 months. Every year several devotes used to do the yatra barefoot. This year looking towards COVID19 infection only 2000 people were allowed in a single day. The yatra was closed on March 18.
Recently, there was a spell of cloud whether the yatra could begin from today or not after 11 people of Bhawan, including some of the priests, tested COVID-19 positive. However, the authorities decided to go ahead with the decision of resuming the yatra. This year most of the safety precautions will be taken for safe Yatra. The online registration system will generate, no crowd will be allowed near the counter. Those who have registered online will only be allowed. With precaution such as masks will be made mandatory. All the people will be requested to download Ayogya Setu App on their mobile phones.
In Vaishnodevi Yatra started, children below 10 years, pregnant women, People above 60 years have been advised not to travel and seek blessing from their home.
Booking and sitting of pilgrims in Atka Aarti area and Shradha Suman Vishesh Pooja will not be allowed.
Cloakrooms will be allowed to open but blanket stores will remain closed, initially.
