Real Life Story of Gangubai Kathiyawadi

Gangubai Kathiyawadi who was she – Gangubai Katiyawadi is a story about Mafia Queens of Mumbai, it was first published in Hussain Zaldi’s book. Gangubai Kathiyawadi’s real name is Ganga Harjeevandas Kathiyawadi. She originally belongs to Gujrat.

However similarly to many of the other girls, her dream was to go to Mumbai and become Heroine. However, her parents did not allow her to go to Mumbai.

Soft-Hearted Gangubai

Gangubai Kathiyawadi was a soft-hearted woman, she was always ready to help people especially prostitutes. She being a prostitute knows how tough it was to live in such an environment. She always believed that no matter she gives her body for others’ pleasure, it doesn’t give them the right to abuse her or downgrade her dignity.

However even though Gangubai use to live in slum areas, she was still a rich lady, she became a guardian for many children and gave them shelter. Gangubai was very much in contact with many gangsters in Mumbai as they were her regular customers.

Gangubai was a soft-hearted person, she never tried to force any girl to become a prostitute. She always used to take a stand in every situation. However, women who work as prostitutes are not un-touchable or someone who doesn’t have their own dignity. Situations make a person go in such an environment. A similar thing happened to Ganga or Gangubai, in the start she thought of running from that area.

However, even though she goes home, her parents won’t accept her. Hence she stood back. Despite being a brothel woman, she won many hearts. Even today her idols and photo frames decorate many walls of Kamathipura.
