Zomato delivery boy punches woman, breaks her nose. On Wednesday, a heart-breaking video of Hitesha Chandranee surfed on the internet. Recently, Hitesha Chandranee, a Bengaluru-based content creator and make-up artist posted a video. Furthermore, she posted a video stating that she has been assaulted by a Zomato delivery guy. Evidently, the incident took place on 9th March, where Hitesha faced assault after an argument over a delayed food delivery order.
In the video clip posted on Instagram, the influencer is crying and her nose is bleeding severely. She further alleges that the delivery person forcefully entered her house and abused her, snatched her order, and ran away.

What exactly happened?
In the viral video, Hitesha Chandranee made an order on March 9 at 3:30 pm, which was to be delivered by 4:30 pm. Furthermore, since she did not receive her order on time, she contacted customer care and asked them to either waive off the charges for the order or cancel the order. When the delivery guy, identified as Kamaraj came to her door while she was speaking to customer care. Hitesha asked him to wait while she was on the call, which is when he started abusing her.

“The Zomato delivery guy reached and he was very rude,” she said. Chandranee says that usually does not open the door fully. She said that she was talking to the delivery boy through a slit. “I gave him a choice saying I do not need the order so you can take it, I am okay. But he refused to take the order back and he started screaming at me, saying ‘Am I a slave or what? You are asking me to wait here.’”
Furthermore, she continued that, “So, it was really threatening for me. I tried to shut my door but he pushed the door, took my order from the table, that is he entered my home and punched me on my face so that I don’t get back to him, and he ran away.” In the clip, she also spoke about the people in her society, who are not much interested and forthcoming in such matters.

Zomato’s Reply on this Assault Incident

Subsequently, Zomato also commented, saying, “This is not the experience our delivery universe stands for.” Zomato continued, “Our local representative shall be in touch with you shortly. Also, to help you with the police investigation along with assistance on the medical care required. We can’t emphasize how sorry we are, rest assured we’ll take necessary actions to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.”

After the video floated on the social media platforms, netizens supported Hitesha Chandranee. Some of the netizens commented- “This is really shameful and shocking, please take care and don’t worry we are with you. Wish you a very speedy recovery, (sic)”. Another Instagram user wrote, “This is really pathetic. I’m so sorry this happened with you babe! We are there with you in such tough times. (sic)”
Hitesha added that a Zomato employee has reached out to her and said that further action will be taken. Hope to receive the true judgement and hope justice is done.
